He's so fine

I'm not sure what the background colour comes from, as my photos taken at this location usually have green bokeh from the grass and plants. It must be either sky or water, but I'm not sure how I would have angled either. Anyway, I guess the blue makes a change from all the Blackbird images against green. Taken SW of Calgary on 19 July 2013.
The first three Christmas cards and letters from England and Europe arrived in my mailbox yesterday. Panic mode! Trying to get address labels stuck on envelopes, in between viewing and commenting - I should have got most of my cards and letters written and mailed by now, so I am very late.
Yikes, weather forecast says that we will get down to -28C tonight (windchill -39C!!!) with a few flurries. Will be very glad when this deep-freeze comes to an end. Art, you'll be laughing your head off, I know : )

Terrific closeup of the RWB ... beautiful wing colours here too ... as a blackbird, this stripes are so pronounced ... especially during their mating season!! Excellent details and clarity to this shot ... well done!!
PS: Almost broke a record yesterday at 15C ... it was a great day at the park with 18 Trumpeters ... LOL ... back to -5C to +2C for the next week ... :((
