Got to it too late

Not a good quality photo, but I did want to add it to my West Bragg Creek album. The reason for my title is that some people pick mushrooms to take home to eat and others (like me) just want to photograph them - preferably in their natural surroundings and not being held in the hand. I tend to fall behind my friends when on walks, because of taking photos, and by the time I catch up with them, the leader has sometimes already found a mushroom that he knows will taste good in soup or other recipes. A quick slice or two with his sharp mushroom knife and the stalk is trimmed, examined for the presence of worms, grubs, etc., and then popped into his plastic bag. Or else it is picked in order to try and determine the ID. I try and photograph most of the ones that are pulled.
