Down in the creek - camouflaged

On 30 September 2013, I was out for a walk with birding friends at Sikome, Fish Creek Park. We had spotted a Great Blue Heron in the creek and while everyone else was watching it, I suddenly spotted a beautiful fungus growing on the end of a fallen log. After the walk, I went and got a bit closer, managing to get reasonably close photos of both this Heron and the fungus, which was a treat. The Heron's colouring is so similar to the trees that have fallen into the creek, making it really hard to see from a distance.
