Is this White Pine?

Is this White Pine?
By now, I should know quite a few of the trees to identify them, but any information I hear seems to go in through one ear and out the other : ) Taken at Maclean Pond, off Elbow Falls Trail, W of Calgary, on 2 July 2013. Maclean Creek was as far as I could drive, as the rest of the road was closed due to all the flood damage from the Flood of the Century.

By the flatter needles, these do look like a budding Jack Pine (Pinus banksiana) cones ... but not positive ... and I am not sure if there are many of these pines in Alberta (??) ... great lighting and well taken Anne!!

Yes, since Alberta has more White Pine than Jack Pines ... it could very well be that of the White Pine ...

Thanks for coming back again, Art! I suspect it probably is White Pine. Wish I could remember one tree species from another! Guess my interest just doesn't extend as far as trees, though their cones can make beautiful photos.
