The reality is ...


Had a great day yesterday on the annual Owl Prowl, driving the backroads east of Calgary (carpooling, thank goodness!). We managed to find six Snowies, but all six were far away, except for the very first one, that was quite a bit closer. This photo was taken at 48x zoom and heavily cropped, but still worth taking. You can barely see these owls when they are the far side of a huge field - just a tiny speck. Thanks so much, Terry, for taking us out on your annual Owl Prowl again - always a treat - and thanks, Tony, for the luxury of being driven all day! Much appreciated.
