The joys of winter driving

The joys of winter driving
If you don't like driving on ice, then these hills that we encountered on the Nanton Bird Count two days ago, are not for you! From a distance, it reminded me of a series of frozen waterfalls, ha. Actually, we managed to get to the top without a problem, thanks to a very careful driver. Our winter weather is continuing mild, which is just wonderful. It's only 1C now, but it's supposed ot get up to 13C this afternoon - what a crazy winter! The next few days should be good, too. Three (?) years ago, we were doing all the Christmas Bird Counts in -30C weather, which was so brutal when you are walking for many hours on some of the Counts! What we "citizen scientists" go through, ha!
