Spurred Gentian


If you knew how many times I have tried to photograph this species and yet never getting a photo that was worth keeping, you'd chuckle. However, this plant worked out OK, thank goodness. Not a particularly showy plant, so it doesn't really catch your eye, but it's quite interesting. This is as far as the flower "goes" : ) We found this specimen on a day's botanizing trip to Elkton Bog, near Cremona, north west of the city, on July 30th.
