Heliconia

After spending three hours walking in a world of white this morning, I came home desperate for a bright splash of colour. It's a balmy -6C (20F), which sure feels good after our recent deep-freeze! Anyway, this is part of a vibrant Heliconia, seen in the ENMAX Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo. I was thrilled to bits to see that the Zoo has started on the construction of their Arctic Shore exhibit. I never go to the North entrance of the Zoo, but was in that area on Thursday. Of course, this new exhibit won't be ready for a long time yet, but I was happy just knowing that it was already partly built and that my dream (for many years!) to be able to photograph Penguins, will eventually come true, LOL : )
