Glenmore Reservoir

I always love walking within sight of the Glenmore Reservoir. We are roughly 1,000 km from the ocean, so this reservoir is the next best thing. Today, we walked along the southern edge in South Glenmore Park. If you look closely (and use a bit of imagination!), you can just see the Rocky Mountains in the far distance. It was a little bit chilly first thing this morning. There were three kinds of Grebe on the water - Horned, Eared and Western, plus Golden-eye, Coots, Buffleheads, etc.. We were lucky enough to see a Long-tailed Weasel, who was getting his winter coat, climbing up an ddown a tree. I didn't realize that these animals climb trees. He moved extremely fast and all I managed to get was a blurry, black-tipped tail and part of a very blurry body.
