Burrowing Owl

For the first time ever that I have been there, one of the Burrowing Owls in the Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo was perched near some cacti. I love the fact that these tiny Burrowing Owls are free to fly all over the Conservatory room. Rather a blown-out photo, but I still love its bright eyes. I'm so glad that people have developed breeding programs for this endangered species.
