Waste not, want not

My "apologies" for a new batch of bleak, colourless photos taken today, but that was the sort of day it has been :)! I think the temperature was around -11C this afternoon, it was snowing, and there was no sign of the sun. Just had to get out for a little bit of exercise, not to mention that if I don't use my camera, I feel as if something is missing in my life. Addiction, you say? But I already know that! LOL. Anyway, no brightly coloured birds to share with you today - for the most part, they seem to blend in well with their wintry surroundings. Didn't like the position of this Downy Woodpecker's head in the photo, so thought I'd salvage the beautiful black and white feathers.
