Knee deep

Got two OK photos this morning and several blurry and now-deleted ones! Sounds like a typical walk to me :). Makes me feel SO cold just looking at this little Chickadee with his legs and feet covered in snow. Saw the two adult Great Horned Owls, the pair of White-breasted Nuthatches, one Downy Woodpecker, and two White-tailed Deer. Took these two photos in a local area after I had been on a walk in Weaselhead with a few friends. Can you believe the madness? We met just before 7:30 a.m. to watch the dawn dispersal of about 340 Black-billed Magpies. They roost in the Weaselhead area each night and at dawn they all leave the forest and fly over the park to the residential areas nearby. After witnessing this event, we continued for a walk in Weaselhead, seeing a Northern Shrike, Common Redpolls, Ravens, a Bald Eagle, a Hairy Woodpecker, and a couple of Downy Woodpeckers.
