We have tiny mansions here compared to such houses. This is a gorgeous one, and the photo give a nice feel of the place.

As you know, I used to come here with an old girlfriend from time to time and I can't for the life of me remember how we approached the Manor!

Hello Andy. A while ago they did an extremely large car park and welcome centre that is not too far from the entrance to the grounds that is just off the High Street in Waddesdon. I can't remember if it has always been the same entrance off the High Street but as I remember things once you were in the grounds it was quite a long drive up a windy narrow road. I think there were areas where cars parked next to each other but a lot of the time you parked at the side of the windy road. You then walked towards the house and approached it from the opposite side to this view of the house. I hope this makes a little bit of sense!!

It's hard to imagine this 'French Chateau' bring in England. A superb building.

Hello Amelia. It is an amazing place for sure.
Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild wanted an estate where he could escape London in the summer months to entertain family and friends for weekend house parties. Ferdinand wanted the exterior of the house to be in the style of the French Renaissance châteaux of the Loire valley and engaged a French architect.
