Clayfolk Show! This is Julia Abbott Janeway: Magpie on Yellow Plate

This is Day 13 of 14 of my Clayfolk Art Show exhibit! I started with Lorene Senesac, Rhonda Hampton, Steve Kirkland, Bruce Finch, Vera Rogers, Jan Lacy, Cheryl Kempner, CJ June, Shirley Usher, Debra & Larry Nelson, Nina Fernstrom-Duong and Tea ThanhBinh Duong!
Today's featured artist is Julia Abbott Janeway!
I was absolutely delighted when I found myself in front of Julia's booth, so bright and cheery with birds, adorable animals and flowers adorning all of her work. I am a huge fan of etchings, and it never occurred to me that this effect was possible on a glazed piece! Julia has this technique down to a science, and all of her work is just fabulous! Her use of nearly fluorescent colors contrasting with the black and cream of the ceramic and artwork are just dazzling!
It was no surprise that Julia is as colorful as her artwork. A genuinely nice lady with a sparkling personality and a passion for her work. I was lucky enough to approach Julia's booth when she and Penelope Dews were happily discussing ideas for another collaboration, since their amazing totem was such a success (See yesterday's upload). It was fun to hear their excitement! This was also a very nice way to meet Penelope, whose artwork will be displayed tomorrow!
Pardon the flood: there are 12 pictures here, and I hope you'll be sure to cruise through every image, because Julia's artistry should not be missed! The last image is really fun because it's her logo, and I think it's just perfect!
If you would like to contact Julia, you can reach her by phone or email:

Additionally, Julia has a website shop for her Pumphous Studio pieces!
