Shy Little Character

A couple of months ago I was up on our ridge looking for little mushroom fairies. I was making my way slowly along the trail when I noticed a small opening at the base of a tree. Peering out shyly was this mushroom, who was obviously curious and asked what I was doing. "Why, I was looking for you!" and settled myself down for a chat with my new tiny friend. "I know about you!" she squeaked, and glided closer. "You're the Giant One who makes something called "pictures" and we are your stars!" Smiling affectionately, I said, "Yes, I think you are all wonderful, beautiful creatures, and I like to share pictures of your people with the world." At that, she giggled and glided over to the entrance to her home and said, "I would like to be a picture for your world...does this make a pretty pose?" As I took this picture, I told her, "It's just perfect, and so are you!" With a happy grin, she waved and said goodbye, disappearing into the gloom.
