Western Morning Glory: The 152nd Flower of Spring & Summer! (3 more pix below!)

I discovered this beautiful wildflower just outside our fence line one morning while walking the dogs, and soon found few more in both white and pale pink! This is a wild species of the very popular garden flower which has been cultivated to be a strong, climbing vine with huge blossoms. Most wild species tend to trail along the ground and can create dense carpets that can choke out other plants. There are over 1,000 different species around the world!
Western Morning Glories are native to California and Oregon and bloom from May through July and feature blossoms which can be 2" in diameter. They grow in both meadow and open forest where they get full sun.
