Straight Snout Weevils

Back in May, I was taking pictures of Flower #77, Tall Western Groundsel, when I noticed something very tiny crawling around. Taking a closer look, I discovered that the blossoms had lots of little weevils on the petals! I decided the best way to show them off was by this collage! I hope you like it!
Weevils are a kind of beetle, and are very tiny. Straight-Snout Weevils are only 2-80mm in size, though they are usually in the 4-20mm range. There are many species and they vary greatly in their shape, as well as the types of food they eat. Some bore into wood, others like potatoes or other crops. Still others, like this one, favor flowers. Not all weevils are pests though, and some species have been imported and released to eat noxious weeds.
