Standing By The Wallpaper

Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: WALLPAPER (March 3 - March 9, 2025)
My cousin Ruth and I, Fairfield, Connecticut, posing by the gold leaf wallpaper that my uncle had put up. He was a wallpaperer at that time and had chosen an impressive one from his stock to decorate his and my aunt's bedroom.
Ruth and I are 14 years old.
I'm not sure why black is so dominant in this photo. My hair was really medium brown and my shirt was navy blue.
It's Christmas, 1968 and my family are staying over at their house for a few days.

Ruth (not really my cousin but fellow emigrant) was my very, very close friend- and still is!
Our families always had the most wonderful Christmases together.
