The Lone Smiler

The one smiler in this photo has a small, rather strange, worried looking smile and is certainly outnumbered by all the non-smilers. (Can you see him?)
I'm not sure, but it's possible that the mother of the woman with the black bow-tie has died.
Or perhaps it's just a gloomy Christmas.
Below is another example of some members of the same family with, again, one smiler.
