Stanley Meserve

Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: COOKING: OUTSIDE OR IN
Written on the back: Stanley Meserve. Lobsterman. Kennebunkport, Maine.
August, 1963.
Well, he looks like he's holding a lobster in his left hand, so in my memory I had assumed he was cooking - but looking at it now I'm not sure at all, and think he's probably loading or sorting his catch for the day.
Anyway, this picture of Stanley will have to do - can't find and scan another one right now! : )
Kindly given to me by a library patron who knew him from vacations when she was a child.
***Just found this wonderful article from seacoast.online.com on Stanley, which substantially fills out many details of his life!

If anyone is further interested, the article about this lovely man was written in 2015 at:
www.seacoastonline.com
Stanley was interviewed but sadly died shortly after the lengthy article about his life was published.
What a guy!
