The Home Birth Queens

The county paper wanted to do a story on home birth, so they called the local midwives and asked if they could come and do an interview. Carol (holding baby Lizzie) and Melissa (not pictured) thought of us, three best friends who had already been at four of the five births between us.
We ended up having ten children between us, nine of them home births. (Sorry, Colin.) And sharing in those births together was an incredible experience.
We showed up for the interview totally unprepared for a photographer (obviously!) - so we look less than groomed. LOL
I look like I'm wearing a corn fertility crown, but it's really a dried flowers arrangement in the window.
Although, I am five months pregnant with Owen, so I guess it could have been. : )
L to R: Jacquie, who had just had Lizzie, me, Carol holding Lizzie, and Andrea holding Rylan. Summer, 1988.
