At 11 years old I'm still too well-behaved and English to show my true feelings in public...
BUT!
- inside I was SO SO MORTIFIED!!!

Oh, I can feel your pain. Perfect Santa photo, however. At least it wasn't in a department store. Did Santa comment that he and your brother share the same first name? Having the family at the office party is a great idea. A lot of visits to the personnel manager would have been avoided had my employer done that. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Deborah.

Any conversations we may have had with this Santa have long disappeared from my brain - probably hurried along by my embarrassment!
"Office" was just a short cut explanation. This took place at the hotel where my father played piano in the lounge, which was called "The Mermaid Tavern".
I guess this was an all staff party.

You probably felt quite grown up untill this point in the proceedings and the embarrassment is here for all to see Deborah, for all that it's a nice Christmas photograph if not a good memory.
