Winter Light and Shadow

Saturday Self-Challenge: take only one shot of anything of your choosing, relying on your knowledge of manual settings.
I've been shooting in manual on a regular basis for maybe the past year, but it is still a challenge for me to get everything right the first time. Even though this isn't my favorite picture ever taken, I was surprised that I got a half decent shot considering the sun was in front of me (it was a weak sun, thankfully). I was attracted to the tree shadows on the white snow, hence why I chose to shoot this subject. Since I knew I wanted to photograph the snow, I used my polarizing filter. I carefully positioned myself to get the composition I wanted, then shot the image. I do admit that my automatic focus was on, but everything else was manually set. This image is SOOC, no processing. Looks best enlarged on black.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Sehr schön eingefangen für unsere Herausforderung.
Have a lovely week end, Valerie.
