Perfect Mason

Saturday Self-Challenge: High Contrast in Black and White
One of the biggest challenges was finding an appropriate subject that lent well to ramping up contrast. This antique mason jar qualified beautifully. After converting to black and white, I increased contrast as far as I could go without blowing out the image.

Extremely graphic work with zero fine details has its own beauty.
And Val, this was not supposed to be critique, only a general observation on this challenge =P
You did it well*****

It looks rather like a preservation jar for jams, preserves, marmalade, stewed fruit, that sort of thing - could they be the same?)
