Great processing! And I know the feeling. It is so easy to loose all the fine details.

BUT, on the other hand, keep in mind the audience does not know what the original looked like ;-) So, try to see also the heavily processed version objectively, with fresh eyes. Extremely graphic work with zero fine details has its own beauty.

And Val, this was not supposed to be critique, only a general observation on this challenge =P

Thank you so very much, Sami! I didn't take anything you said as a critique. I agree with you that sometimes it can work to go so extreme that detail is taken away. I thought of doing just that, but I liked the details so much on the jar, so I didn't go all the way with the sliders, lol!

I wouldn't have thought of using a jar for this challenge. The photo works a treat and inspires me to have a go with a jar or something similar :-) Love the light and the out-of-focus backdrop, Val. Superb detail too.

(but, what is a mason jar? What can it have to do with brickwork or masonry for that matter?
It looks rather like a preservation jar for jams, preserves, marmalade, stewed fruit, that sort of thing - could they be the same?)
