The Result of Another's Greed

I visited Grounds for Sculpture, a park full of sculpture displays located in Hamilton, New Jersey. It is a fascinating place. The particular display pictured above captured my attention because it illustrated a dark time for many people who lived through the Great Depression of the 1930s. This worldwide financial collapse was the result of rampant greed that drove financial speculation in the 1920's. The sculpture was created in 1991 by artist/sculpter George Segal (1924-2000), titled "Depression Breadline".

Valfal club has replied to Esther clubThanks so much for your encouraging words, Chris; I'm glad I succeeded in conveying the message I wanted to send. I thought it would be a bit of a different twist to illustrate why these sins are so bad. ;-)
The day was very cloudy and I had only my camera phone to rely on for photos. I didn't think I would have anything worth posting, but the flat lighting actually benefited me in regards to this particular sculpture display. If it had been a bright sunny day, I may not have been able to achieve the mood I wanted.
Bon Dimanche .

I am convinced that 100% of all wars would be eliminated if we take away pride and greed from the world. ;-)

Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation
Wasting time in the unemployment lines
Sitting around waiting for a promotion...
Don't you know
Talkin' 'bout a revolution
It sounds like a whisper
Poor people gonna rise up
And get their share
Poor people gonna rise up
And take what's theirs...
