Boudicca Sails for Normandy (2) - 5 June 2019

Led by four Archer-class patrol vessels, (two are visible in this picture), the Fred Olsen cruise ship Boudicca makes a sedate exit from Portsmouth International Port. The ship had been chartered by the Royal British Legion to take 250 veterans of D-Day with their companions and carers to Normandy for the 75th anniversary of the landings. With the veterans now aged between 95 and 101, this was a significant and moving event. Markings for the Royal British Legion can be seen on the bow of the ship.
