Childhood's End - 19 April 2016

Sometimes, amidst the intensity of documentary photography, I see something I want to turn into my version of art, something, perhaps with a message. Often, the title comes to me before the image is even processed as I want it.

A brightly coloured, unattended child's backpack at the zoo made me reflect on how the carefree nature of the young turns eventually into the more sober reality of adulthood and how responsibilities and anxieties can make the colour fade from life.

The edit, perhaps inadequately, attempts to convey that and my title is taken from one of my favourite SF books of all time.
