Canal Walk, Southampton (2) - 31 March 2014

The appallingly neglected wasteland on Canal Walk, Southampton depicted here has been in this state for several years, gradually attracting more and more litter. It is bounded on the west side by an isolated stretch of old wall and its more modern front wall features the Botley Stonecraft plaque which I featured in my photograph of 5 August 2013.

Now the land has been earmarked for the development of 16 flats in a five storey block and the vantage point of the nearby Eastgate Street car park will allow me to follow progress as I continue to tell the story of Southampton as I see it. Comments on the planning application are allowed until September 2014 so there will be no updates for a while.
