More By Luck Than Judgement (1) - 24 March 2014

My railway photographs rarely reach the standards of those by favourites of mine on Flickr, especially Gordon Edgar, Phil Sangwell and Jim Knight so I was pleased with the opportunity which arose at Eastleigh today. I do not usually plan my locations to any great extent nor do I have the time to spend in position and, although Class 66 features regularly at Eastleigh, it is not always possible to get good shots. In fact, I was on my way away from my photography in the area when these locomotives arrived. DB Schenker 66174 (leading) and 66037 are hauling a mixed train which includes Colas engineering vehicles as they pause before continuing northbound.
