Castries - 11 March 2014

There is a lot in this overview of part of Castries, St. Lucia. Beyond the town, on the horizon (just right of the crane) was a tantalising view of Martinique, our next destination. To the right are the tugs Chale and (behind) Doggersbank. St. Lucia is a beautiful island albeit with certain Caribbean characteristics which do not always rest well with the eye of the visitor - for example the considerable number of abandoned and wrecked cars. I had been advised to tour (which I did) as the capital was described as 'not that attractive' but, based on my one day visit, I would happily return on another cruise and stroll near the ship. I felt Castries had plenty to offer the camera given the eclectic nature of my photostream.
