Not all the retail failures of 2012 were complete disasters, although I would not seek in any way to diminish the impact on those directly affected. Clinton Cards was a high-profile casualty but part of the business re-emerged as the smartly branded Clintons. My first sight of the new image, which is still being rolled out, was in Bedford's Silver Street where a large store stands between that street and Hawes Court.
