Swan Hotel, Bedford - 4 July 2013
The Swan Hotel, Bedford is the outwardly more elegant of two hotels facing each other across the Great Ouse. From a distance the swan figure looks quite attractive but it is a bit tatty close up. Behind the swan is the hut on the castle mound housing informative plaques which, of course, have been defaced, recording the history of the siege of the castle in 1224.
