Ja, eben. Genau deswegen. Nach der übersichtlichen umgestaltung ist am HBF jetzt viel weniger betrieb. Da kann man dann endlich auch die züge sehen, in die man einsteigen will ;-)

So you thought it was downtown Lisbon? :-) Well, I wouldn't be surprised if the city of Karlsruhe was inspired by Lisbon (and Portugal in general) for redesigning their central railway station and the trams ;-))

Haha, and I thought it was one of our old ones from Stuttgart;-) As far as I know some of the old Stuttgart trams were sold to Lisbon....

No kidding? Now how exciting is that! Perhaps the old Karlsruhe trams will be sold to Stuttgart someday... ;-))

Herlich, die alte Strassenbahn!

Viel schöner als die neuen, aber dann doch mit unbequemen sitzen. Damals überwiegend holzklasse. So kenne ich sie noch (also die im PiP) aus den 1970er und 1980er jahren.

Ja, aus der guten alten zeit ;-) Ab und zu fährt sie noch durch die stadt zu speziellen anlässen.

To tell the truth, it's a historical tram that still runs for special occasions. The tram system in Karlsruhe is really good, but also not one of the cheapest.

Oh, I do hope so. Just say the word, and if it's at the same time Jean-Paul wants to visit, we're three already for an IP get-together...and I'm sure we'll find more people :-) And that will be your chance to board a tram, Rosa! Perhaps not this one, but a modern one for sure...and it will also go underground just like that famous HFF sub ;-))

Oh, I don't think so. There are English signs as well, just in case ;-) And lots of people speak English in Karlsruhe, so just ask and they'll help you. The Karlsruhers are very friendly :-)

auch ich dachte wie Xata im ersten Augenblick an Lissabon!! eine sehr einladende Straßenbahn ist das, mit der ich gerne bis zur Endstation fahren würde :-))

Ich hab in Karlsruhe auch eine Straßenbahn erwischt, aber die war lange nicht so schön wie diese.

Das glaube ich. Dann warst du also an einem ganz normalen tag in Karlsruhe ;-) Diese fährt nur noch an festtagen ;-))
Und die ganz neuen (seit letztem jahr) haben sowas von unbequeme sitze, null federung, dafür aber einen bildschirm, auf dem man sich während der fahrt mit interessanten fakten über KA und das umland berieseln lassen kann ;-)

Ich fürchte, es fährt nicht durch ganz Deutschland, aber innerhalb von Karlsruhe fährt es an festtagen schon noch. Dann mal los... :-)

Ein hauptbahnhof hat jedenfalls mehr köpfchen als nur ein bahnhof! ;-))

Oh je, jetzt habe ich dich durcheinander gebracht. Also dies hier ist Karlsruhe (und, ehrlich gesagt, auch nicht der HBF - inspiriert durch das schild - sondern das depot für historische strassenbahnen). Spässle g'macht, so sind sie, die Badener! ;-)

Und ich wohne auch tatsächlich in KA, nicht in Sinsheim. Aber in Speyer bin ich öfters und dort habe ich auch das u-boot foto gemacht. Wenn es irgendwann (wahrscheinlich nächstes jahr) renoviert im technikmuseum in Sinsheim seinen endgültigen platz findet, werde ich hoffentlich die gelegenheit haben, es dort auch nochmal zu fotografieren.

A pretty little tram Edna. I love the colour...hmmh I guess we now know why the submarine hasn't had a yellow paint job - they used all of it here!!!!

I like those historical trams better than the modern ones, although one might think that the seats in modern trams are more comfy. Yet with the latest generation of trams here, the seats are getting to be more like the historical ones except that the trams themselves look more boring!! ;-))

A plausible explanation as far as colors go...or perhaps I made a mistake and this is the sub and the sub is the tram? ;-)))
