I have heard of fires being lit to keep the frost off, Some of our big old country houses had a walled kitchen garden the south facing wall often had flues built into it so that thing like peaches could be grown against it. Heaven help the apprentice if he didn't keep the fires well stoked all night !!!!!!!!!

Ik heb nog geen bloesem aan mijn appelbomen. Ik ben in zekere zin tevreden, want het is nog steeds erg koud en het zou de bloesems doden en ook de kans op appels. Geweldige foto van deze boomgaard.
