In 1990 we had our first experience of walking in the Lake District. We had started on the Coast To Coast Walk, but unfortunately only lasted 4 days. My old mucker fell somewhere after reaching Red Pike. Although struggling on for two more days his leg showed signs of much internal bleeding a we had to abandon.
But as many experience the Lake District draws you back, and this walk up to the summit of Catbells was the first of many enjoyable days in the Lakes.
