Under the Pier (2)

Springmaid Pier, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina ... The docile little wavelets here belie the destructive power of Hurricane Matthew, which reduced the length of this historic (well used and well loved) fishing pier from 1068 feet (325 meters) to a truncated 150 feet (45 meters), rendering it unsafe and unusable ... well, basically destroying it.

It does make you wonder by what margin this pier is not falling down!
Nice photo though!
Best Wishes, and a good weekend
