Nostell Priory...1733 .. for the 'Winn' family

Nostell Priory...1733 .. for the 'Winn' family
The house was built during 1733 by 21 year old James Paine for Sir Rowland Winn. The damaged brickwork seen to the left column of the six.. was due to a fire in 1980 which raged out of the downstairs windows.. believed started by a faulty television and totally destroyed 'the breakfast room' and the 'Crimson room'. They were restored to new by following James Paines original drawings.
Nostell Priory is home to a large collection of Chippendale furniture, and other furnishings all made for the house and remain in situ today.
