Collectors pieces now Sarah, Would you believe some have been dug up and stolen off the street.

Hi Maurice, have you found you one?? :)) this news piece about them was most interesting, seeing how they are being used now..MANY interesting ways! SAD indeed that people are steeling them :(

I pass two when I am going to my daughter's, in front gardens Sarah, one used as a kind of greenhouse! In many villages they are book exchanges. I used them a lot in the 1960's, with one being at the end of our road and we were not on the phone! We used to book a time with a friend to be outside the box and they would ring...boyfriends as well!!! Very nostalgic but cell phones have put paid to that!!! All the best, Rosa

The uses you describe here are really great ideas Rosa. they do sound like very nostalgic indeed! I can see you standing there in front of that red box waiting on that call from the boyfriend:))) Oh Yes, the cell phone is a necessity isn't it? My family, grown children AND G/Children as well, are on a device of some sort most all the time, grrrr! :)))

Hello dear Sarah interesting to see this news item reached you there over in Georgia ... so many of out local Lincolnshire villages do still have a Red phone box though most now have a differant use

No old English village scene is complete without one though perhaps also a village pond another thing of the past

Hey Steve, OOH Yeah! I get YOUR NEWS STUFF all the time. We have a TV Channel called, " BBC" so there you go, British Broadcasting Company, :) so stay out of trouble or we may hear about it HAHAAH!!! Great shot Sarah, Nice to see it being put to good use. So many were just thrown on the scrapheap, although as has been mentioned by others many have been put to other uses.
