Well all I know is that there is much similar scenery and geology and that the Cornish emigrated en masse in the 6th and 7th centuries to Brittany bringing with them their version of Celtic which was adopted wholesale by the Brettonois! Why? I don't know!

I used to live in Pinner, Middlesex and had a good garden that won the odd prize for what it's worth but I never grew camellias - wrong soil conditions.
