Church at Granadilla, shot taken from the town wall.

Abandoned walled town in Cacares province. (Abandoned due to being cut off by a new reservoir in the 50s). But the fruit trees are still tended and the hay collected for summer, autumn and winter fodder (grass is only grazed in the spring).

Andy Rodker club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubThe reservoir was completed in the 1950s. The town, on higher land, was abandoned because it was surrounded on 99% of all sides by water and all its farmland was under water. This building was the church, not a house. People started to come back for a few weeks in the summer to cater for the few tourists like us! The place is quite famous because of its history, castle and extensive and complete town wall.
