This certainly wasn't one of those 'oh no, the alarm again! Sh..!' ... turn round and go straight back to sleep moments! This was the best possible wake up and smell the coffee (and grab the camera) alarm call imaginable!
I've now used this reply for the notes; it seemed appropriate!

Thanks, Dave. One from the archives: I used to live near the top of a tower block and saw these a lot. Now I am in a far nicer flat but low down and with interior courtyard views only. Yes, I miss these!!
