Logan Rock
Once a famous rocking stone. It was dislodged by a young naval officer early in the 19th century. He had to put it back at his own expense; he did so, but it no longer rocked!

Interesting story there..Andy .. I have a 12 tonne hydraulic bottle jack and have often thought of taking it out somewhere and doing a bit of moving .. but I guess I never will...

Well that taught him not to mess with things that didn't belong to him!! The rock with the ticket on it, looks as if it's folded over - how strange. I wonder what caused that

It helped that his father was a senior Navy person and could procure winching equipment from the naval dockyards in Plymouth!
If you look at any of my very many shots of granite, either in Cornwall or in Central Spain you will see some very strange shapes. Extreme heat and great pressure deep below the earth's surface is the cause!
