It looks a bt like sea mist about to creep in!

The light in this shot is absolutely glorious Andy. I also like the bracken in the foreground.

I think the phenomenon gained importance after you photographed and showed it on ipernity, Andy ;)

For me, indeed, it's a rarity and a very beautiful capture.

I love the pink in the sky. I have never quite made Land's End!

I would not recommend it. I went in the 60s and 70s because as a child it was the thing to do. But never again. It became a ghastly theme park. Better to view it from afar such as here. Or from closer but out of the way such as Sennen, where Nick Weall goes or Porthgwarra / Nanjizal on it's southern flank.
In other words, you ain't missed much!
