Mussels....mmmmmmmmm!

I gather them from here, Isabel.
Nothing better - just cook for a few minutes with dry white wine, parsley, a chopped small shallot that has been softened in butter (olive oil also acceptable) and a little cream. Good bread with a dab of salted butter and a glass of the same white wine are the only accompaniments needed ... Perfection!
(Never add garlic. I love garlic but it totally dominates and ruins mussels, imho!)
All I can add is that my girlfriend adores my mussels!

Here in the south mussels are... well... not as I enjoy them: I prefer the small and full ones.
As long as someone enjoys what we cook it is a great joy!

The sky, the rocks, the sea....Yes!! The mussels....No! I'm totally allergic and absolutely ill. Like the taste but they hate my insides!!!....It's a beautiful view though!

I know what you mean, Andrea. I shouldn't really spend as much time as I do on ipernity and even then I am 3-4 days behind with my views of the photos of others (I thank them for HFF for example on Tuesdays!). I am very busy this month then it all stops for the summer (I teach Business English) so I will have the time to catch up but no money!

Great shot Andy. Reading of allergies; I had a couple of sips of my friends cider on the Thames boat ride. I completely forgot I was allergic to it and soon had a red rash on my face and neck! Luckily I always carry the tablets!! The sun must have got to me ;-)

Bad luck! I forget sometimes but it is usually when you least expect it.

She is amazed at the strength of my leg muscles! (all that hill walking!). She says that ALL Spanish men have gone to pot long before my age (and I don't consider myself a particularly fine specimen) ... But of course I will take any flattery that's going, thank you!!! :o)
