Spring in Algete, Madrid province, May 2016.

The grass is green and the spring flowers are doing their thing. But this lasts for 3 weeks at most. The rest of the year the country here is brown, yellow and burnt.

I make a point of visiting at that time of year and going for a walk with my sister's family (she lives in Algete and has done since 1980!).
Of course I visit her often but just don't go into the countryside at other times!
