Sapphire Pool, Biscuit Basin

This is Sapphire Pool in Yellowstone's Biscuit Basin. Its blue color indicates its scalding temperature and it is one of the main features of Biscuit Basin. After the Hebgen Lake earthquake of 1959 it became a geyser for a number of years but has since quieted down and returned to its present state.

Wowzers...both of your pictures have blown my socks off (you keep doing that to me!) and they are now cowering on the other side of the room! :D
So intensely beautiful. I'm so glad that I took a peek backwards in your stream...it's a shame that I simply cannot keep up with all of your pictures but alas, I can only do my best! What a reward for looking though--as I always am. I showed Steve too and he was all, ooooooh and ahhhhhh and "Find out when the best time to go is when there are less people and it's still comfortable! Maybe not this year but next year for sure!" :D
I noticed that you left a comment on my Harriet Lake picture...it was a lovely sight, I have to say. Still remember that day, such a great hike!
Of course you're right...too many destinations, not enough time! But we'll have a good time whatever adventures we have, eh Ron?! :)
