White Falls

Continuing the story of our hike to Berg Lake in Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia, this was the start of day two. We packed our gear and had a breakfast of instant oatmeal and coffee and headed out along the Robson River to the bridge below White Falls where this photo was taken. Crossing the bridge we started up Emperor Hill, the toughest part of the hike. Climbing Emperor Hill we gained the better part of 400 meters of elevation over 5 kilometers up through the Valley of a Thousand Falls. The weather had turned sunny but the sun had not yet reached this area when the photo was taken. The many falls such as this one and the views (several of which are shown in the insets) make the climb up Emperor Hill more than worthwhile.
