Beautifully captured Ron.
Yes a similar thing to my Great Spotted Woodpecker with the red cap on the Male only, however it also has a red tail on both genders.

i always think of them as being much bigger than this. we left a snag snag in our backyard when the tree died that draws them, but i don't get to see them very often at all. this is a sweet one!
