Washington Twinpod

Washington Twinpod
Also known as the Alpine Twinpod, the botanical name for this interesting plant is Physaria alpestris. It grows only in the state of Washington and only in four counties in the state. It is a creeping plant and has yellow flowers in the spring, followed by these hollow pods with the seeds rattling inside. This example was photographed in Chelan County, along the Old Blewitt Road in Blewitt Pass.
