Mount Rainier

This was taken from a ridge north of Mount Rainer in the Greenwater area where one of our hikes ended. For those who do not know Rainier is one of a chain of active volcanoes reaching from Canada down into California that includes Mount St. Helens. Mount Rainier's elevation is 14,409 feet (4,392 m), and its last eruption was in 1894. It was first climbed on August 17, 1870.
